California Culinary Retreats weekends are all inclusive. That means all your meals and drinks, your 4 cooking classes, accommodations, materials, and take home items are included in the price. All you have to do is get yourself to your retreat, and leave the rest to us!

The Weekend in Brief

Come explore the authentic, vibrant cuisines of Mexico. Each of the four classes will focus on cooking techniques to create simple to ambitious dishes. We’ll learn to roast, toast and simmer chiles into sublime sauces. Make homemade tortillas to fill with exotic delicacies. Cook regional specialties like chiles rellenos, tacos, enchiladas, & dive deep into the moles of Oaxaca. All this will take advantage of the abundance of California’s summer harvest.

All classes will begin with an overview lecture and then move to cooking in the kitchen. We will dine together at beautifully-set tables under the stars, and sit by the outdoor fire pit in the evenings. When you are not cooking you are free to relax, go for a hike, or go wine tasting in the charming town of Los Olivos - your choice.

The retreat begins on Friday afternoon between 4 - 6pm, and we will conclude our weekend Sunday after a leisurely late lunch.
