California Culinary Retreats weekends are all inclusive. That means all your meals and drinks, your 4 cooking classes, accommodations, materials, and take home items are included in the price. All you have to do is get yourself to your retreat, and leave the rest to us!
The Weekend in Brief
We are delighted to present our fifth annual regional Italian cooking weekend. We will make fresh pasta, hand rolled gnocchi, and learn the secrets of perfect risotto. In addition, we’ll taste olives oils, specialty Italian cheeses and wines, among other things.
You will have four technique-based cooking classes while staying with us at the beautiful Montecito property. All the classes begin with an overview lecture, and move to hands-on cooking in the kitchen. We dine together at beautifully-set tables. When you are not cooking, you are free to relax, read a book in the garden, go for a walk in the hills, stroll on the beach, or shop in Montecito - your choice.
The retreat begins on Friday afternoon between 4 - 6pm, and we conclude our weekend Sunday after a leisurely late lunch.
Classes will include:
porcini risotto, roast salmon, farmers market vegetables, panna cotta
ravioli, butternut squash sage lasagna, chopped salad, almond cake
olive oil tasting, chicken scaloppini, tiramisu
gnocchi & ricotta gundi, bolognaise sauce, classic tomato sauce
The retreat is all-inclusive - including your private beautifully-appointed room, classes, all beverages and meals.
1 premium king room w/private bath, priced @ $2400 per couple ($1200 per person)
1 standard queen room w/private bath, priced @ $2300 per couple ($1150 per person)
2 queen rooms w/shared baths, each priced at $2100 per couple ($1050 per person)
